Broomfield North Metro Kiwanis Club’s Mobile Resource Trailer delivers the most critical resources to underserved children & families in the North Metro area communities. The Mobile Resource Trailer helps to 1) bring resources directly to the location of those in need, 2) provide a welcoming “shop at no cost” approach where families can choose the resources they need most, and 3) enables the ability to assess needs and focus on delivering help to specific locations with most needed resource types. We partner with several community partners (e.g. Broomfield FISH, Hope House Colorado, the Refuge, Adams County Health & Human Services and local schools in the area) to have our Mobile Resource Trailer available for these underserved populations and bring the resources directly to them. We focus on Winter Necessities, Basic Household Essentials, Move in Kits and Backpacks & School Supplies.
Annual Winter Coat Drive
Donated winter coats, hats and gloves were provided to families needing these basic winter necessities thanks to community partners that hosted collection sites.
Move-In Kits for Young Adults Aging Out of Foster Care
The club supports youth aging out of foster care with move-in kits from purchased and donated household items. We also supply these kits to Anchor House.
Key Club Sponsorships
Key Club International, the largest high school service organization in the world, empowers its members to lead and serve by cultivating leadership skills, developing friendships, and performing community service. Key Club members have a passion for helping others and gain leadership skills they will carry with them for a lifetime. We currently sponsor Key Clubs at Legacy High school, Niwot High School and Frederick High School.
Volunteering
Our club members volunteer at several local organizations including Packs of Hope, who supply overnight essential backpacks to children entering foster care, and Food for Hope, who address food insecurities in Adams County, and Broomfield FISH, our local food bank.
